As a retailer, sometimes it is hard to order what our clients will buy and want. However, not sure why I ordered so much Aquamarine. No fear, I decided to add some Raven to my extra Aquamarine for this stunning new color. The base and chairs where painted with this mix, distressed, topped with 1 coat of Sheer Liquid Wax, followed by a mix of Ebony Tinted Liquid Wax mixed w/ Sheer Liquid (4 parts sheer to 1 part Ebony making a Black Glaze). Adding this glaze gives the furniture more depth and mutes the blue a tad. The top was painted by my friend, Jessica - this is her amazing signature style for table tops. She used the Weathered Gray Stain, Gray Mist, Cathedral. Painted by Two Dogs and A Paintbrush (with help of Jessica Kline) One of our new colors of 2018 is Deep Ocean. Such a beautiful blue green combination. After painting Deep Ocean, it was followed by Pearl Liquid Wax. Then followed by dry brushing our Golden Nugget Metallic Liquid Wax. These were picked to get the shimmery look while protecting the paint.
Artist: Two Dogs and A Paintbrush Mixing Colors is so fun and gives our large range of colors even more options. What I love about this is seeing this before and after is the amazing transformation. The piece has so many details that now make it look so rich and updated.
The best way to get a color like this is to start with a base color and then add the darker color to it to get the color you are looking for. It is always best to mix, paint a sample, let dry and then see if that is the color you are trying to achieve. Always follow up with one of our Protect & Seals to protect your work. Painted by: Susan Bickman Raven with Cloudy skies showing through when distressed. Sealed with our Ebony tinted wax and varnish for durabilty.
Painted by: Lantana An amazing job by one of Two Dogs And A Paintbrush's client. She used black and brown paints first and then followed up with Black Cherry Gel Stain.
One of my newest clients and a fellow artist at American Redemption Painted this. She had the desk and the bench, which were separate pieces. She painted them the same to make a matching, beautiful unique vanity set (or desk). It was painted with Terra Bella Paints in Cloudy Skies. Random patches of Crackle were added. Followed with dry brushing French Cream over making sure to hit the spots with the Crackle. As you can see, the hardware was also painted the same. Sheer Liquid Wax was applied to protect the piece. By: A Two Dogs and A Paintbrush Client
